PTI conducts three day, intensive workshops to prepare candidates for
the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination
(click here for a list of states that require or use this exam).
PTI workshops cover all the content domains included in the examination,
integrating graduate level academic programs in clinical counseling.
The workshop also features innovative tools and techniques for test taking and case simulation analysis. The PTI workshop is conducted by practicing clinical mental health counselors with over 30 years of experience in the field, and who are also graduate counselor educators and supervisors. PTI has conducted this workshop for mental health counselors through the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association since 1994. |

This review is designed to prepare you for the NCMHCE. It is an in-depth overview of topics covered in the examination including: Diagnosis, Treatment Planning, Special Treatment Issues, Substance Abuse, Psychopharmacology, Professional Practice, Outcomes, Counseling Theories, Counseling Modalities, Career Development, and more. The workshop is designed to provide you with the information needed to pass the exam and the techniques to assess your knowledge base. Test Taking Techniques | ||
|
|
This experience provides you with traditional test taking techniques as well as personal insights into your individual style of learning and test taking abilities. You are given sample tests modeled after the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Exam to have the opportunity to both become familiar with the exam structure and see how they perform within that structure. (PTI also has on-line practice simulations at ExamAce. ). You are also shown how to improve and optimize your ability to use your knowledge to successfully pass the exam. The test taking unit features mind mapping techniques, key words analysis, case scenario and case simulation analysis, and crossword puzzles and flashcards for focused learning. | |

Cancelation and Refund Policy | ||
|
|
If there is insufficient enrollment, the program will be cancelled and you will be notified one week prior. For other cancellations, up until two weeks before the program date you will receive a full refund for a cancellation minus a $25 administrative fee. After that date, no refunds are made. | |
